The San Francisco Bay Area is home to several frog species including the threatened California red-legged frog. As living-giving rains return to the land, our November monthly shamanic animal circle (2-5pm) will celebrate the good and healing medicine of Frog (e.g. emotional healing, song, transformation, embracing our sensitivity). In co-operation with San Bruno Mountain Watch, this ceremony will be preceded by an invasive plant removal event (11am-2pm) at the site of our afternoon ceremony. By supporting the recovery of native plants, we support healthy ecosystems not only for the frogs and the plants themselves but for many other relations like the federally endangered mission blue butterfly and San Francisco garter snake. Both events are open to the public, and participants may attend either or both.
For the invasive plant removal meet at 11am at the office of San Bruno Mountain Watch,
For the Frog medicine circle meet just before 2pm and park in the back of the lot of Aircraft Technical Publishers, 101 South Hill Dr. in Brisbane. There is a short trail at the rear of the parking lot that connects to Quarry Rd., the location of our ceremony.
Dress for the weather. Both events will still be held in conditions of coolness, wind, or light rain and will be cancelled in conditions of heavy rain or lightning. We will enjoy our lunches together on the land between events in place of our usual post-ceremony potluck.
There is no cost for the invasive plant removal event. Suggested donation for ceremony is $25.
